Arjan teaches research skills at the conservatories of Tilburg and Maastricht. He writes all program notes for the Magogo chamber orchestra and he teaches choral conducting at Kunstbalie in Tilburg. With composer Evert van Merode he founded Stichting Muziek Nu, a platform for the development and performance of new music. From September 2010 Arjan will be the artistic leader of Stichting Bachcantates Tilburg.
Arjan studied church organ and music theory privately with Henk de Croon. At the Fontys Conservatory he studied composition with Kees Schoonenbeek, choral conducting with Louis Buskens and orchestral conducting with Arjan Tien. He holds a PhD. in Literature from Tilburg University.
